The Experience

The ritual:
75-minutes in nature

Every Svette session is designed to be a place where wellness, nature, and connection merge. Amidst the disconnected hustle of the digital age, communal hot-cold therapy is a practice that returns the body and mind to a state of equilibrium.

01

Sweat

10-20 minutes in the heat. Always listen to your body. Traditional löyly (water on hot stones) creates enveloping steam. Sit high for more heat, low for less.

02

Plunge

Anywhere from a quick rinse to 3 minutes in the Puget Sound. A splash of water on the face initiaties the dive mamealean reflex and relaxes the nervous system. Try to keep your neck submerged.

03

Repeat

Cycle 2 to 4 times, resting between rounds. Hydrate. Breath fresh air in between session. Notice the shift — from tense to soft, from busy to calm.

The Environment

Presence is the vibe

At Svette, we cultivate a wellness environment designed for both relaxation and connection. To help everyone unwind, we encourage a phone-free space — inviting you to unplug and be present. We also ask guests to keep voices soft and considerate, creating an atmosphere where you can either enjoy peaceful solitude or engage in gentle, meaningful conversations with fellow wellness enthusiasts.

The Science

What is contrast therapy?

Research shows that heat exposure dilates blood vessels, increasing circulation. Cold exposure constricts blood vessels, reducing inflammation. The alternating dilation and constriction creates a "pump" effect, flushing out toxins and improving blood flow. The mind and body are left resilient to stress.
